What Does IEP Stand For?
IEP stands for Individualized Education Program. It's a written plan developed by a school team to support students with disabilities who need special education. Every IEP is tailored to one child's unique needs.
Who Qualifies for an IEP?
A child qualifies for an IEP if:
- They have a disability under IDEA (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech impairments)
- The disability affects their learning or behavior at school
- They need specially designed instruction or services
A learning disability like dyslexia or a processing disorder may qualify a student for special education services. We also support families navigating 504 plans for students who don't qualify for an IEP but still need accommodations.
